SoftBank's Fukuoka Kitakyushu Data Center, formerly called Asian Frontier, is a six-building campus in Kitakyushu and one of the largest data centers in western Japan. It was among Japan's first commercial data centers to use outside-air cooling at scale, and it offers 6 to 8 kVA per rack. A high-capacity network links it to Osaka within 10 milliseconds. IDC Frontier opened the first building in 2008, and SoftBank Corp. took over operations in April 2026.
