Microsoft DUB14 is one of two two-storey data centres, with DUB15, at the west end of Microsoft's Grange Castle campus in Clondalkin, west Dublin. They sit west of DUB09, DUB10, DUB12 and DUB13.
Microsoft won permission for both buildings in May 2021. DUB14 covers 28,072 m² (302,100 sq ft) and holds five data halls. Microsoft took over the admin block and the first data hall on 24 July 2023, and the other halls followed. A 3,520 m² Gateway administration building at the business park entrance serves the whole campus.
Cooling
Rooftop air handling units cool the data halls with outside air. Evaporative cooling, fed by recycled rainwater, runs only above about 24°C.
Utility
ESB Networks serves DUB14 and DUB15 through the campus substation, extended with three 110 kV/20 kV transformers, and ESB's Corkagh 110 kV station. EirGrid operates the transmission system. No behind-the-meter generation serves DUB14.
Backup Power
Twenty-one standby generators back up the data halls. They were the first on the campus commissioned on hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) rather than diesel.
Campus
Microsoft runs twelve data centres at Grange Castle, from DUB03 (2009) to DUB15, plus the stand-alone DUB11.
